The Cacao House The second stop is to an exotic waterfall on the Bri Bri reserve where you will hike for 30 minutes through primary forest, crossing rivers to reach your beautiful destination. This waterfall was where the Bri Bri performed rituals and ceremonies for purification and healing purposes. Although the water is no longer used for ceremonies, the area is still thought to cleanse the body. The water springs from the top of the Talamanca Mountain Range, dropping into a naturally formed swimming pool where you will have the opportunity to refresh yourself in the cool water. This part of the tour presents you with beautiful scenery and the chance to really admire the landscape of Costa Rica. Along the hike you will have the opportunity to see the famous “Poisonous” Red Frog and the blue butterfly, which is sought after for luck and good health. At Willie’s Tours Costa Rica we strive to enhance our clients experience while visiting Costa Rica. This tour is interactive allowing for travelers to get a first hand look at a local culture. We want people to immerse themselves in the area, expanding their knowledge, ideas and beliefs. The Bri Bri have remained relatively isolated from Western civilization over the years. Slowly, the Bri Bri culture is starting to change. Witness first hand the struggle to maintain their identify and preserve their culture and traditions against the ever changing world. For The Cacao House and Waterfall Tour there is a two-person minimum. To ensure our clients satisfaction, we recommend making a reservation for this tour at least one day in advance. For your convenience this tour can be reserved for either the morning or the afternoon. We recommend bringing: - Bug repellent - Camera - Money for Souvenirs - Sport Sandals such as Teva or Keen - Sun Screen - Water

Great trip Really interesting trip to the cocoa farm. We learnt how the process is, and got to buy some really cheap original chocolate. The Waterfall trip was really nice, beautiful surroundings, and impressive nature. And it was extremely refreshing to take a nice dip in the waterfall lake. Highly recommended. |
