15 Days / 14 Nights in Panamá, Costa Rica & Nicaragua

This is three countries in One Trip: While visiting Panama, we focus in the 1500’s and 1600’s Centuries “The Spanish Gold Rush” and its colonial Period. We visit Portobelo Harbor, a trampoline site of the Gold Rush during the Colonial period and Old Panama Site. We explore areas where Vasco Nuñes de Balboa, Enrique Luque, Francisco Pizarro, Francis Drake and Captain Morgan left their footprints. Also, we visit 20th Century Modern Panama “The Panama Canal” “On the Wonders of the World”, a masterpiece of modern engineering. We will have 2 nights and three days at the Autonomous Guna Yala Islands, administered and owned by the Aboriginals Guan people.

In Costa Rica we will embrace the Rainforest Experience and its rich Biological Diversity, visiting National Parks, participating in Ecological and Adventure activities, such as; Whitewater Rafting, Zip Lining through the Forest, Nature Hikes, Natural Thermos Hot Springs and the Cloud Forest. More than 25% of the Costa Rica territory Nature Preserved, full of Tropical Wildlife.

Our last country is Nicaragua, a visit to the Land of Ruben Dario (Poet, Journalist and Diplomat, a Literature vanguard in modern Latin American Literature) and Augusto Sandino, a Nicaraguan revolutionary and leader of a rebellion between 1927 and 1933 against the U.S. military occupation of Nicaragua and  his exploits made him a hero throughout much of Latin America. During our journey from Leon to Managua, we visit the Museum of El General Augusto Sandino, located in San Rafael del Sur in the Managua province. Masaya, Granada and Leon are three colonial towns full of handcraft, architecture and history will be visited.

Day 1: Panamá City: Tocumen International Airport

Panamá City has become the Central American trading, comercial and banking hub.

Panamá City has a real methropolis, has a lot to offer; city tour, a visit to old 1500’s Panama’s City, the Panamá Canal, Museums, casinos, drinking and dining “Nightlife”.

Day 2: Panamá: City Tour

Departure 8:00am

Historical sites where Explorers Vasco Nuñez de Balboa, Francisco Pizarro and Captain Morgan left their legacy.

City Tour; Miraflores lock site and museum, 1500’s old Panamá “The Gold Rush Bodega”, lunch at the famous Seafood Market and finally a walk in El Casco Antiguo “Colonial Panamá City”.

Optional activities:

Visit to the casino, drinking and dining “Nightlife”

Day 3: Panamá: Portobelo

Departure 8:00am to Portobelo “The Caribbean Atlanthic Coast Gold Rush Hub Bodega” where Captain Enrique Luque and Sir Francis Drake left their footprints.

A short visit to identify Sir Francis Drake burriel. 7:00pm bus from Albrook Grand Terminal

Transportation from Panamá City to Almirante.

 

Day 4: Panamá: Bocas del Toro Islands

Bocas del Toro Islands were discovered in 1502 two weeks after Costa Rica was discovered. Captain Del Toro in Colombus’ 4th voyage tripulation was the person who saw these beatiful Islands and the islands are named after his last name. One Islands is named Cristobal and the main island is Colón.

The islands are also known for beatiful Caribbean blue waters, scuba diving, snorkeling, Catamaran tours and Dolphin watching as many more acquatic activities.

Arrival around 7:00am

Day 5: Panamá & Costa Rica: Almirante – Limón – Tortuguero

Drive from the border to Limón city and a brief City Tour in Historical Limón and sight seen at Isla Quiribri where Christopher Columbus landed in 1502 in his last and IV voyage to the new world and typical Caribbean lunch.

Isla Quiribri is the birth of Costa Rica.

Early departure from Bocas del Toro to Limón. 8:00am / 2:00pm boat departure from Moín private boat transportation.

Day 6: Costa Rica: Tortuguero – San José

Night time arrival in San José and Hotel check in, drinking and dining “Nightlife”.

2:00pm Boat from Tortuguero to La Pavona

3:30 – 4:00pm shuttle Bus to San José

 

Day 7: Costa Rica: San José – La Fortuna

Departure 8:00am from San José

Optional activities:

  • Arenal Volcano National Park (local guide not included)
  • Hanging Bridges
  • La Fortuna Waterfall
  • Hike to Cerro Chato (local guide not included)
  • Superman Swing, horseback riding, etc.
Day 8: Costa Rica: La Fortuna – Monteverde

Departure 8:00am from La Fortuna

Optional morning activities (entrance fees not included):

  • Sky Trek/Canopy, Sky Tram, Sky Walk
  • Horseback riding, etc.
  • Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve (local guide not included)
  • Orchid garden, Frog Garden and Cheese Farm

Day 9: Costa Rica & Nicaragua: Monteverde – Peñas Blancas – Rivas – Granada

Departure 8:00am from Monteverde

Day 10: Nicaragua: Granada – Las Isletas – Granada 

Departure time flexible to the itinerary.

Transfer to Marina Cocibolca for Cacao tour in Isletas and arrival to Puerto La Calera

Day 11: Nicaragua: Granada – Masaya – Nindiri – León

Day 13: Nicaragua: León – Estelí – Jinotega – Selva Negra

Visit:

  • Leonel Rugama Cultural House
  • Historical Ex-Combantants Museum
  • History & Archeological Museum

Day 14: Nicaragua: Selva Negra – San Ramón – Matagalpa – Chagüitillo – Sebaco – Managua

North Batahola Cultural Center Visit

Cancellations made after confirmation of your reservation will result in a 50% charge of total reservation and 50% will be reimbursed. (cancelation of any activity by client´s choice)

Cancellations made by Willie´s Tours CR will result in a 100% reimbursement

Cancellations made 45 days of projected arrival will result in a 50% penalty on the total value of the reservation

Those made within 15 to 45 days of projected arrival will result in a 75% penalty of the total value of the reservation

Less than 15 days 100% of total will be charged full amount

Cancellation made by Willie’s Tours CR due to bad weather, natural disaster, looting or political outrage, there will be 100% reimbursement.

As departure or Pick up time is arranged, clients must comply with agreement, otherwise Willie’s Tours CR won´t be responsible for waiting or rearranging logistics and this will result in a 50% reimbursement.
