Journey through Costa Rica exploring its rich biological diversity and experiencing its vibrant Rainforest. More than 25% of Costa Rican territory is a nature preserve full of vividly colorful tropical wildlife and flora .

You will hike National Parks and visit a Cloud Forest to see wildlife in its natural habitat.   Enjoy the pristine preserved beaches where the jungle meets the ocean.   Feel your heart pumping as you raft white waters of a Costa Rican river or zipline through the the forest canopy. Soothe your soul in the natural thermal hot springs of a volcano.   Canoe through the canals of Tortuguero with the chance to see an enormous Sea Turtle nesting on the shore.  Finally, end your Costa Rican experience on the coconut lined beaches succombing to the relaxed vibe of and rich flavors of the Caribbean  coast.

Day 1: Juan Santamaría International Airport

If time allows,  head downtown and visit The Central Market, vendors sell souvenirs, clothes, local art and food. The Gold Museum houses a pre-Colombian collection of artifacts or  The National Museum offers a butterfly garden, botanical garden and historical displays of the country.

Day 2: Irazu National Park volcano & Cartago

8am:  Pick up at hotel for Irazu Volcano National Park, Orosi Valley and Cartago Ruins (Entrance fees not included)

Irazu Volcano  at 3, 432m  is the highest active volcano in Costa Rica located in the Cordillera  Central Valley near Cartago. The last eruption was in 1994.

Day 3: Manuel Antonio, Quepos

8am Departure after breakfast.  Arrive at hotel of your choice in the afternoon.

Visit Carrara National Park on the way to Manuel Antonio, 3-4 hour hike (entrance fees and local guide not included)

A popular spot for visitors, Manuel Antonio, in the Central Pacific, is known for its white sand beaches, clear ocean waters, and national park with a rich biodiversity and lots of fun water activities

 

Day 4: Manuel Antonio, Quepos

Day 5: Monteverde 

Depart at 7 am for your journey to Monteverde.

Arrive at Hotel of your choice.

This eco-system is uniquely located between the Pacific and Caribbean.   From the peaks of this refuge  you can see both coasts on a clear day.  The area is special because flora and fauna from species from both regions are found here.

Day 7: Rincon de la Vieja

Departure at 8am after breakfast for Rincon de la Vieja.

Enjoy the change in climate from the cool mountains to the dry heat of Rincon de La Vieja.  The preserved area  contains tropical forests which are home to pumas, jaguars, spider and howler monkeys, kinkajous, sloths and tapirs. The National Park offers 1,525 meters of trails including thermal hot springs.

Day 8: Rincon de la Vieja

Day 9: La Fortuna

Departure 8 am after breakfast

The Arenal volcano is a distinctive landmark in the area. The last eruption was in 1948 and its activity continued until 2010 .  Occasionally, visitors can still see steam and vapor escaping.  The region is a must see for tourists due to its natural beauty and wide range of exciting activities.

Day 10: La Frotuna, Arenal

Day 11: Tortuguero

Departure from La Fortuna at 7am and destination at La Pavona Harbor where you will board a boat to Torituguero to the hoel of your choice.

The small Caribbean village of Tortuguero consists of brightly colored wooden buildings .  Visit the Turtle Museum to learn more about the turtles that used to be hunted,  but are now being preserved through eco-tourism.

Day 12: Tortuguero

Day 13: Cahuita / Puerto Viejo

9 am Departure for Moin (Puerto Limon).  Board your boat for a guided tour of the canals.  Private Transportation will be waiting at La Pavona Harbor, destination Puerto Viejo and a brief stop in Limon Harbor for a Historical Walk.

The beach town of Puerto Viejo still lives with its Jamaicain heritage. Hear Reggae music in the air and  savor the coconut flavors in the local dishes. Enjoy the beaches inCocles,  Punta Uva and Manzanillo  to relax, surf and snorkel.

Day 14: Cahuita / Puerto Viejo

Day 15: San Jose

Enjoy your morning in Puero Viejo  walking the beaches and bathing in the warm Caribbean waters before you head back to the capitol of San José beofre your flight the next day.

 

 

Cancellations made after confirmation of your reservation will result in a 50% charge of total reservation and 50% will be reimbursed. (cancelation of any activity by client´s choice)

Cancellations made by Willie´s Tours CR will result in a 100% reimbursement

Cancellations made 45 days of projected arrival will result in a 50% penalty on the total value of the reservation

Those made within 15 to 45 days of projected arrival will result in a 75% penalty of the total value of the reservation

Less than 15 days 100% of total will be charged full amount

Cancellation made by Willie’s Tours CR due to bad weather, natural disaster, looting or political outrage, there will be 100% reimbursement.

As departure or Pick up time is arranged, clients must comply with agreement, otherwise Willie’s Tours CR won´t be responsible for waiting or rearranging logistics and this will result in a 50% reimbursement.
