As you depart from the pier, you will head South from on one of the most luscious roads of Costa Rica. You will be in a comfortable van for about an hour, passing by banana plantations, cocoa plantations and with great ocean views as this road goes parallel to the ocean.
Your first and main stop are in Cocoa Trails, a fantastic place where you will learn, walk, taste and have fun! At first, you will see the indigenous museum. As Cocoa Trails is partly managed by the indigenous of the area, in this part of the tour you will learn about the native culture as well about the remedies based on Medicinal plants and herbs.
On a second step, you will enter the bananas plantation area, where our guide will tell you all about the history that turned the wild Costa Rican Caribbean area into the first banana plantations of Central America, the train tracks that came with it and the Jamaican Afro-Caribbean population that arrived to change our history forever.
And, well! Here comes chocolate! Moreover, this is where you will learn everything about this delicious product. From the rainforest trees, its fruits on the bark of the trees, how they go from green to dark red and how they are harvested and processed. They will show you the original process of cocoa with the old tools and the old classical taste of the first chocolates.
Once you finish this part of the tour, you will hop back on our transportation to go to the Cahuita National Park to start a walk that will stay in your memories forever. Not only because of the fantastic white sand beach and turquoise sea, but also because of the incredible amount of wildlife you will enjoy this trail.
Your local guide will be pointing monkeys, birds, snakes, iguanas, and more!
Cahuita is the essence of the pure life that makes Costa Rica so popular! Furthermore, it is undiscovered. And in this paradise, you will have some time to simply lay on the beach, try the warm ocean or walk by yourself while looking for more wildlife.
On the way back to Limon you will stop at a fruit stand to try some exuberant tropical fruits tasting.
We will stop by a Banana Plantation to learn about the Banana Agriculture Industry where Costa Rica is the 2nd largest Banana Export country.
