The snorkeling Tour is a great way to explore Cahuita’s coral reef surrounding the tip of the National Park referred to as Punta Cahuita. The park was established in 1978 and has continued to be the only national park in Costa Rica to rely solely on donations. Donations received are put towards keeping the park in up most condition, free of littering and maintaining the safety of the wildlife and visitors. The reef in the National Park is filled with over 240 marine species including wildlife such as tropical fish, mollusks, nurse sharks and lobsters.

Cahuita Coral Reef is perhaps the most protected and better Coral Reef in All Costa Rica due to a high level of protection by Conservation Agencies such Minae y Sinac, as well as its own community and well appied conservation laws. Snorkeling Sessions can onle be operated by Certified Tour Companies and guides, it is reached by boat only and it is prohibited to snorkel on you own.

Awareness: Be careful buying Snorkeling Tours from outside vendors, you may end up having a bad experience since most outside vendors have no license or certification permits. 

The equipment will be provided during the training session before entering the boat. The boat will take you to Punta Cahuita that is part of the Cahuita National Park. Departure is form Cahuita Harbor where our guide and captain will take you in our boats. All snokeling sessions are operated from our boats.  From there you will snorkel in two different locations to fully explore. While in the water you will follow a guide, a Cahuita native swiming and snorkeling through the coral.

Important Note: Snorkeling is not available all year long, there are good months and bad months where water conditions, rough waves impeed all snorkeling sessions. Good snorkeling months:  March and April, the first week of may, August, September and October. Bad snorkelign months: Part of May, June and July, November and December, January and February

After snorkeling, you will stop at Punta Cahuita where you can catch your breath, relax and observe an incredible scenery while enjoying some fruit and water. While spending time at the point you may see common animals that live in the forest such as Capuchin and Howler monkeys, a variety of reptiles and birds.
