Tortuguero is often called “The Amazon of Central America” because of its canals and abundance of wildlife.  According to National Geographic, 5% of the world wildlife is found in Tortuguero. The area is also famous for turtle nesting which occurs between early June and mid-October.

One Way Package

A transportation package to & from Tortuguero: the tour begins picking you up at your hotel in Cahuita at 8:30am and 8am in Puerto Viejo. The private shuttle will take you to the dock of Moín in one hour and fifteen minutes. Once in Moín, at 10am, you will board a boat for a 4-hour guided trip through the canals until you reach Tortuguero village. During this journey, you will have a good chance of seeing toucans, Two-Fingered and Three-Fingered sloths, iguanas, Howler and Capuchin monkeys, caimans, crocodiles and many beautiful and exotic birds. From Tortuguero Village Harbor at 10am Boat Shuttle to Moin Harbor and Land Shuttle to Cahuita NP or Puerto Viejo
